Holy lack of updates, Batman!

Sat Dec 5, 2009, 6:06 AM
Yeah um... Sorry about that. I haven't really had time to do much on here. I've done lots of new pieces and such, but most of it is just practice and won't see the light of day on here. I guess that's kind of a tease, but oh well.

This month is making me happy. This is my second Christmas that I'll be celebrating, and even though I don't have much money for gifts, it's always great to hang out with my favourite people and enjoy the silly season. I'm also going on a road trip to Port Fairy, and hopefully I'll get to take photos using a friend's SLR ^_^ No more phone camera for me!

Oh, once my hair goes pink (hopefully this month too) I want to do some 'modelling' with a friend. That should end up on here. I just love traipsing about in front of a camera, haha. That, and guava. I do love guava. Om nom nom nom.

How has everyone been doing?

I really don't update here very much, do I? This isn't much of an exception.

I do have some exciting news, however! By this time next year, I will be living right in Melbourne :) St Kilda, preferably, because I don't think I could ever move away from the beach. It will be good to get out of here, this town zaps all my creativity and positivity. The only downside is I won't have many friends there and I'm so very shy :( humbug.

I have been taking a more hands-on approach with my art, focusing mainly on things like sewing, cross-stitching and my favourite, making dread falls. They look lovely if I do say so myself. On that note, *meme* from the Hair Extensions Forums should be sending me a pair of falls soon so lots of photos are in order. You'll finally see what I look like :paranoid:

Things are going well lately, I'm quite happy.

I'll close this by saying: [link]

It's amazing what a walk can do. Walking and admiring nature really puts me in a positive frame of mind, knowing such beautiful things surround us. In an area filled with violence, rampant drug abuse and general unhappiness, I've managed to find beautiful things surrounding me, and that makes me feel special. It's also reaffirmed to me that beauty really is everywhere, but sometimes we have to look to find it.

Before I start going philosophical, I shall get to the point. I've been inspired (and oh, it is a good feeling!) to put aside my Photoshop work and instead focus on photography - at least for the time being, to explore other creative outlets. I have been slowly but surely improving at digital painting, but I want to put that aside and focus on capturing special things around me.

I have a few ideas which are really pushing my general style, but I think it's good to challenge your boundaries once in a while. That's how I got stuck in my uninspired moods - I wasn't doing anything new.

One person I'd like to thank is *AndySerrano. Through his artwork, I've seen that there's a big world out there to explore, and he has inspired me to go outside and get looking myself. Everyone should go look at his gallery :)

Sorry for the lack of... anything.

I've just been feeling inadequate lately, in everything. I'm sure it'll pass eventually.

Happy Holidays everyone!
